Motor's
Today I worked with Gillian, we did the motors lab. When we started the first lab we had some troubles, but afterward we were able to figure it out. It was pretty cool how the needle was able to travel inside the straw like a magnetic reaction. The wire did get really hot but it was cool anyway. We didn't because we ran out of time.

Recovery Systems
Today I worked with Thalia and Emma M. we were trying to make a parachute that could fall at the lowest speed possible. At first we tried to make the strings longer but that didn't work. After that we tried making the string shorter, I'm pretty sure that the balloon fell at the same speed that time too. We tried to make a bigger parachute but didn't have the materials. I have a feeling that if we would have used a blow dryer the whole thing would have worked. With real life parachutes the person doesn't even open up the parachute until after falling for a bit, they do this because the impact of the air from both up and down makes you fall slower I think if we used the blow dryer to create that force it would have worked.
